The Library & Information Center of the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA) constitutes an autonomous unit of dynamic character, forming an integral part of the academic environment, with the primary mission of supporting the educational and research needs of the institution. Embracing the interdisciplinary nature of the visual arts, the Library curates multiple collections covering both traditional and contemporary media, while fostering an atmosphere that encourages innovative thinking, creativity, and free expression.
As a hybrid library, at the core of its mission lies the effort to provide equal access to a wide range of information resources, both print and electronic. With a focus on art, its collections include an extensive range of materials addressing the diverse interests and research needs of the community: books, archival material, journals, electronic information resources, audiovisual material, digital or digitized material, posters, invitations, and more. The Library actively collaborates with other Greek academic and non-academic libraries and is a member of the Hellenic Academic Libraries Link (HEAL-Link), aiming at the continuous enhancement, development, and strengthening of its services and operations.
By providing supportive infrastructure, the Library serves as both an educational and social hub, where individuals can explore, experiment, and deepen their understanding of the evolving landscape of the visual arts. From classical masterpieces to contemporary avant-garde movements, the Library continuously enriches its collections in order to remain at the forefront of knowledge and fully informed about the emerging trends of the era.
