USE OF LIBRARY EQUIPMENT
The Library provides its users with equipment intended to facilitate research and support the educational process. Some of the available equipment includes:
Computers and Software
Users may use the computers located throughout all areas of the Library in order to access Library services, conduct research in online resources, prepare academic work, and more. All computers are connected to the internet, and wireless internet access (Wi-Fi) is available throughout the entire Library. In addition, all reading rooms include power outlets for connecting laptops and other electronic devices.
Passwords for computer use are provided to users by the Library staff.
Users are required to use the equipment respectfully toward other readers and Library staff and to comply with the Internal Operating Regulations.
According to the rules governing computer use:
- use of computers for gaming or browsing websites unrelated to the educational process is prohibited.
- users are not permitted to modify software or install programs.
- priority in the use of shared computers is given to members of the academic community.
- if all workstations are occupied, users must follow a first-come, first-served order. The staff bears no responsibility for maintaining the queue order.
Photocopiers, Printers, and Scanners
Users may make photocopies, print documents, and scan materials using the photocopying machines located on the ground floor and the first floor of the Library. The photocopying machines are operated exclusively by the users themselves. Photocopying and printing services are subject to a fee. Scanning services are provided free of charge.
Users may also print text or images from their own portable storage devices (USB), or scan and save content from Library material directly onto their devices.
Multimedia Playback Devices
Multimedia playback equipment is available, including DVD players, CD players and Videotape players, devices that allow the playback of audiovisual material. Playback is permitted exclusively through the use of personal headphones.
In periods of high demand for the use of this equipment, prior reservation through the Service Desk is required.
Photography
The Library provides a specially designed photographic booth for photographing printed material. The Library does not provide cameras. The photography service is free of charge. To use the photographic booth, users must request access through the Service Desk. Photography is permitted exclusively for educational purposes.
Users are required to respect copyright regulations and comply with the restrictions established by the relevant legislation..
